Cartoon of a sphere built from cubic elements with increasing resolution 

This cartoon builds a sphere from “lego” cubes, starting with a diameter of only nine cube lengths, and increasing to one with a diameter of 201 cubes. This can be used to generate spherical crystallites and was implemented in the MOOC course to explain the Scherrer equation.
