Damped oscillator model of a bound electron interacting
with x-rays

These two programs are concerned with the damped-oscillator model for an electron bound to an atom being excited by an incident electromagnetic plane wave field. The first program generates a visual spatial rendering of how the electron responds and the electromagnetic field it reradiates. The second program shows how the absorption curve and electron phase change as a function of photon energy and damping-term parameter Gamma.
